- Alinco uses a standard micro-usb for the programming cable, and not through the Mic/Speaker ports like most other radios. A big plus to me, because who doesn't have a million of those around, but can't find that one cable you need. 878 has P1 and P2 buttons, Alinco does not. Alinco is cheaper. Overall I am happy with my purchase.
- Return to DMR page, return to Radios page, helpful tools. Uses a standard USB cable, micro USB on the radio end. Plug is tight at first, be certain to insert the USB cable fully; and right side up. Alinko related radio programming software. Point leader-board.
I use CHIRP to program my Baofeng/B-Tech 2m handheld and thereby get around the similarly sucky manual, so I wind up using the B-Tech with CHIRP and ignoring the Alinco. The Alinco has a 'clone' cable which allows two DR-635's to be connected together and the programming in one to be downloaded into the other- but the manual makes no mention of.
