I'm reading a tutorial to do some stuff and it says to use wind so yeh i go to Filter, Stylize and walla there is no wind?
Half of my filters are missing I think, is there a place I can download them?

I've had this problem with the wind filter for a while now. For some reason, when I try to apply the filter, the actual wind effect doesn't appear. Instead, part of the object is cut away, as if the background was being 'blown' onto the object. I'm usually applying the filter to text,

am attempting to use the wind filter on text but when I attempt to use the filter it is greyed out and not available.I have followed several turorials and attempted to look it up in a book I have but am missing something. I have typed the text on a background, rasterized it according to instructions, then when I attempt to use the filter it is greyed out and I am not able to select it.

my Wind Filter is not creating the 'tracers' or 'trails' that I am used to seeing.My goal is to create a motion effect on white text. The 'tails' are not growing in length when I duplicate the filter over & over like it should.

After some time my filter->wind doesn´t work properly. Instead of the wind going outside the figure it makes it go inwards. I mean the area of the figure decreases instead of increasing.

I tried to use the lens flare filter in Photoshop CS6.While the lighting effect is interesting, it introduces ugly artifacts like blue or orange blobs (which are supposed to be the reflection of the diaphragm, but do not look anywhere close to that, but instead are just cheesy looking blobs of color).

In the 'movie prime' setting blue lines are added which have nothing to do with lens flar.On top of it, the preview is about the size of a stamp. Any way to use the filter without getting these artifacts, or is it - what I assume - just a useless toy filter, that has probably been dragged on for years and years because it's always been there? What do you use to create a lens flare effect? Are you just building it from scratch with brush work?

I have a picture of a face and the background is water. I want to make a water face and to do that i need to make a water effect out of the face. 'Plastic wrap' is a nice filter to use. I select the face and applying the filter, but the filter is now 'in' the face (merged), but i want the plastic wrap filter to be in a new layer so i can disable the face and have the water-face effect and the background left.
How do i do that? If i make a new layer above the face and applaying the filter, i get a error because there wasn't any pixel to use.

Win 7 OS. I am trying to use the light effect filter and when I select it photoshop gets locked up and won't respond until I end task in task manager (it says photoshop not responding in task manager). Is there a fix for this? I did all of my updates and it still happens.

3ds Max :: Put Glow Effect On Inside Face For Full Length

I have a series of tubes joined end to end to produce a long tube in several sections. I need to put a glow effect on the inside face for the full length, but have a graduated effect so that one end is glowing very hot, and then have a smooth transition to warm at the other end.
I tried applying individual glow effects to each section but the stepping is obvious.
I then tried adding a glow effect with a Gradient map added to the 'Additional effects' on the options tab. This didn't seem to do much and there don't appear to be any parameters to control the gradient.
What is the best way to achieve the desired effect?

I've read all over that the filter only works with an 8bit/RGB file, which my file is, so I don't understand what the problem is. I am attempting to light a smart object (3d bevel and extruded text) that I created in illustrator, and thought that I might just need to rasterize the smart object before the filter would work, but even after I render it and or flatten the image, merge visible, I still don't have the option to use lighting effects!Â

I was messing around the other day and I came up with this effect. In my haste to get something done I just saved the picture and moved on. Unfortunately now I am unable to remember the name or location of the effect I used. I am not sure if it is a filter or not.
